CORAL REEFS

Reefs in Alor are some of the most conserved marine systems in Indonesia, known for exuberant colors and great variety of reef fishes and rich macro fauna. Frogfish, leaf scorpionfish, Pygmy seahorses, eels, sea snakes and a great assortment of nudibranches are just a few to mention.

Visibility ranges from 15m/50ft close to the wet season and up to an incredible 40m/130ft during the dry season from June-October. In addition, Alor is a place for remarkable surprises by passing pelagic – even whales! We offer no guarantees but hammerhead shark, reef sharks, thresher shark and Mola Mola (Sunfish) are spotted throughout the year.

MUCK

Mucky seabed offers perfect camouflage environment for unusual critters like Rhinophias, devil fish, sea moth, snake eel, zebra crab, Coleman shrimp, solar powered nudibranch, harlequin pipefish, velvet and robust pipefish, different seahorses and many more. Several muck dive sites are located in Kalabahi Bay and few more on Pura and Pantar Island.

HOUSE REEF

You have unlimited opportunities to explore 900 meters of our stunning house reef! For over 15 years we have strived to protect our reef and keep it in its incredible condition. It is an impressive experience for divers and snorkelers alike: a white sand area and a stretch of seagrass in the shallows, followed by a vast coral garden delimited by a drop off where a steep slope and a vertical wall interchange. On the reef you will find impressive fish life, a kaleidoscope of corals, a number of interesting critters and an occasional pelagic surprise!

Rocks with mangrove patches on both ends are a rare opportunity for observing this unique ecosystem and its life buzz.

With a dive boat being an entry/exit point for divers, your experience is stress free. There are several separate dives that can be done on the length of the reef, all offering immense beauty and outstanding diversity.

NIGHT DIVE / SNORKELING

Discovering nightlife on our housereef shouldn’t be missed if conditions are favorable! Our dive guides will carve out the best plan for the duration of your stay.

SNORKELING

The shallows of Alor coast lines are offering fabulous opportunities of exploration for snorkelers; impressive diversity of marine species, rich and vibrant corals, plus interaction with local fishermen and kids jumping from small boats. Snorkelers are always welcome onboard when our boats are heading to adapted dive sites.

LOW TIDE DISCOVERY

A walk at low-tide will reward you with a different understanding of some of the weird and wonderful creatures that call our house reef home. From the Blue-ringed octopus to the Sea hare, many sea creatures have amazing adaptations for survival during low tide. You’ll be surprised as to what you might witness.

OUR SEADVENTURE STYLE

How we conduct our diving and snorkeling is important in delivering you the best possible experience. Frequently, and particularly around the change in moon phases, currents in Pantar Strait can be unpredictable so we may need to do last minute adjustments on timing the water entry or even move to a different site to ensure best possible conditions. We offer single boat dives/snorkeling trips twice a day, which provides us with flexibility in getting the optimum entry time and a flexibility to choose the best site based on tide, currents and marine life activity.

Our schedule is relaxed and unhurried so you get to spend more time delving into the intricacies and diversity of a site which is much appreciated by both photographers and those who love exploring the many creatures found in the shallows.

Our daily set-up is two single boat outings and unlimited house reef access. Boat outings are in the morning and afternoon. However – on days when visiting sites further afield we prefer to organize a double morning dive. On those days most of our guests will join in for an early afternoon house reef dive which is always enchanting and can turn into spectacular if conditions allow.
